What a match shows
Every grant match on a property's page shows four things:
- Scheme name — ECO4, the Boiler Upgrade Scheme, Warm Homes: Local Grant, or LA Flex
- Estimated value — either a fixed amount, a range depending on your heating fuel, or "fully funded"/"you contribute X%" for schemes where the exact figure depends on the specific works
- Deadline — colour-coded by urgency
- Why you qualify — a plain-English explanation tied to your specific answers, not generic scheme copy
Matches are ranked by actual value, highest first — recomputed from the underlying grant calculation each time, not by comparing the displayed text (a scheme showing "fully funded" is ranked above any fixed amount, since 100% coverage beats a partial grant).
"Informational only" — what that means in practice
Every match carries a last verified date and a note that it's informational, not a guarantee. This isn't boilerplate: grant schemes change rules mid-year (the Boiler Upgrade Scheme changed its EPC requirement on 28 April 2026, for example), and a match reflects the rules as understood on that verification date. Always confirm current eligibility with the scheme administrator or your local authority before applying — especially close to a deadline.
When a scheme changes after you've already seen a match
If a scheme you've matched against gets updated or retired, you'll get an email flagging exactly which property is affected, and the match on your dashboard is marked as referring to a scheme that's changed — it won't silently update or disappear. Click Recheck matches on the property page to see the current position.
Recomputing matches
Matches don't update automatically when you change your answers. After editing the eligibility questionnaire on a property, click Save and check eligibility to recompute — or use Recheck matches any time you want to confirm nothing's changed.
